Our auction and investment department handles a wide range of residential, commercial and development opportunities throughout Sussex and adjoining counties by auction and private treaty. Our commitment to each and every property starts with an intensive and far reaching marketing campaign, incorporating local and national advertising. This is complimented by our full colour catalogue which is distributed to over 3,000 prospective buyers, and the fully interactive online catalogue which is mailed to over 2,500 applicants. Each property is also featured on numerous property websites and every auction lot is listed on a specialist website, with paid subscribers, which receives on average 30,000 hits per day. A member of staff with detailed knowledge of all lots will personally attend the viewings to answer questions. This enables us to carefully monitor the interest and feedback on each property so that we can provide an accurate assessment of the interest shown when reporting to our clients.
Some properties are more suited to a longer marketing period that provides purchasers additional time to undertake due diligence and these we would recommend, are sold by private treaty. For all other properties, be they residential, commercial, development sites, land or garages, we recommend a sale by auction which has the following advantages:-
- Immediate exchange of contracts on the day of the auction, or earlier if sold prior to auction.
- Fixed completion date.
- Best price achieved in open market conditions through competitive bidding.
- High exposure through extensive traditional and on-line marketing.
- Serious buyers with funding in place.
- From inspection of your property to the exchange of contracts can take less than 4 weeks.

We will make a mutually convenient appointment and provide a free, no obligation appraisal of your property. At this point we will advise you whether your property is suitable for sale by auction or private treaty.
Once you have confirmed your interest to proceed we will send you an agency contract setting out our terms and conditions. This will need to be signed and returned with proof of your identity and address before we can begin marketing your property.
If entering a property into auction there is a non-refundable catalogue entry fee of £480 inc VAT for each lot. This is to cover the costs of property inspection, marketing, catalogue entry, internet listing and 'for sale' boards.
Your solicitor will be instructed to prepare a legal pack and this would contain everything required to undertake an exchange of contracts on the day of the auction.
